Short Book Reviews
Ron’s Short Review: Outstanding book. Being from the Detroit area and working around the auto industry, I had heard most of the stories (except those about the Ford Family), but Hoffman really puts them together well. Mulally really puts team first and you can see how that attitude saved Ford during some of the toughest days in its history. Every leader, present or future should learn from this book.

Ron’s Short Review: Written about child development but you can correlate child development learning to the corporate team environment pretty directly. Note the subtitle: Grit, Curiosity and Character.

Ron’s Short Review: The subtitle says it all. Dispels most of the myths about performing under pressure and why some do and some don’t. Offers some great advice that anyone can follow to perform better under pressure. Performing under pressure is what people remember about you.
Ron’s Short Review: You need grit, fortitude and desire to finish this tome. But, if you really have a desire to understand what made Einstein so recognizable (genius, showman and flaws) and even if you want to gain a better understanding of his science, it’s worth the read.
Ron’s Short Review: Pretty good book on identifying the competencies and organizations in the future but ends up identifying the classical competencies of humility, patience, courage, and faith.
Ron’s Short Review: Assuming we need to continually foster insights in an ever changing world, Klein provides some good tips for not missing, not interfering and fostering insights.
Ron’s Short Review: Many of my leadership clients are writing internal if not external blogs today.
Ron’s Short Review: Very good practical advice on presentation structure, content and style. Identified as Web writing but much of our business writing is Internet based today.
Ron’s Short Review: Written by an FBI agent who’s goal is to develop a relationship and gather information from people who may not be interested. Given that, the 10 principles seem to be sound and actionable.
Ron’s Short Review: This is actually a collections of articles that the Heath’s wrote for Fast Company but it’s a great collection of the myths in business that keep us from simply doing the hard work it takes to succeed. Quick read but nicely thought provoking.
Ron’s Short Review: “Messes are made of information and people.” The concept of messiness is guiding me through my next book about building great teams. Abby introduces us to Information Architecture. A great concept.
Ron’s Short Review: These guys have a great writing style and cover great topics. Here they cover the 4 villains of decision making and how to overcome them.
